But the Talon 1000R has a longer wheelbase (92.7 inches), a wider vehicle track (68.4 inches), and more suspension travel than the Talon 1000X.

The Talon 1000R has a double-wishbone front-suspension layout and a 4+ Link rear configuration, while the shocks are 2.5-inch body Fox Podium QS3 units that have 17.1 and 20.1 inches of front and rear suspension travel, respectively, or 2.1 and 5 inches more than the 1000X. The combination is made to excel in high-speed, rough conditions.

The Talon 1000R puts out a claimed 104 horsepower, and its engine was modeled after the Honda CRF motorcycle and is similar to the one in Honda’s tamer Pioneer 1000. The sporty side of the Talon is bolstered by its six-speed dual-clutch transmission that is similar to the one in Honda’s popular Africa Twin adventure motorcycle. The Talon comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel for when you want to select the gear yourself.

The Talon 1000R is expected to be on dealer floors in spring of 2019 and colors will include Pearl Red and Pearl Green. Pricing information will be announced in January.
