What was truly an extreme move for Polaris was when the ProStar engines started appearing in the ORV lineup (Ranger, RZR, Sportsman, and ACE).

By 2015, Polaris' entire lineup of Polaris ORVs were powered by ProStar engines.

Back when the 2011 Ranger RZR XP 900 was out, Polaris was relying on other manufacturers to provide engines for its ATVs and UTVs. But Polaris started to grow—fast—and began developing purpose-built four-stroke engines for its ORV machines. Let’s go back to 2014 with this video about the Polaris Prostar engines:

The Prostar engine were put into the Sportsman 550 and 850s, then the RZR 570. An 875cc in the RZR XP 900 was next, and then a 999cc engine was put into the RZR XP 1000. By 2015, Polaris’ entire lineup of Polaris ORVs were powered by ProStar engines.
